At Lake Navaisha, you will have the added treat of an airshow — over 600 species of birds gather here. The serenity of the Masai Mara Game Reserve, the most famous in Kenya, is a gorgeous backdrop for the wildlife shows. This is Maasai country, where the statuesque tribe, wrapped in red blankets with red ochre faces, is part of the very soul of the Reserve. On the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater, which has been compared to both Noah’s Ark and the Garden of Eden, animals are protected from fluctuating weather and flourish. Almost every species of African plains mammal — and the densest population of predators in Africa — can be found here!
