| Tour Highlights |
| Tanzania has been called the “Cradle of Mankind,” and this tour has been designed to rock it! You will see its most spectacular spots at an unhurried pace and come away stunned by its concentration of wildlife. First up is the description-defying Ngorongoro Crater, the remains of a once-vast volcano in the Great Rift Valley, the longest continuous crack in the earth’s crust. We will descend to the crater’s floor where an unmatched array of wildlife thrives in its commanding protection, with Lake Magadi as its sparkling centerpiece. Next is Lake Manyara and you will soon see why bird lovers flock to it. It’s not uncommon to see thousands of pink flamingoes glazing the lake, not to mention lions in precarious slumber, perched in the shady limbs of acacia trees. In the Serengeti, it will become clear why the name is virtually synonymous with wildlife. Here, you live the legend. This is, after all, where wildebeest and gazelle — numbering in the millions! — begin their earth-shaking yearly migration to Kenya. There is one more highlight of this tour: by invitation, we will have the unforgettable opportunity to visit a Maasai village. To stand eye to eye with a proud, noble Maasai warrior, blazing in ochre red, is to have looked into Africa’s soul. |
